GuyWithGuitarIt must be something to do with the sunshine – there is nothing like a decent turn in the weather to bring out the festival seekers and if last year’s scorcher was anything to go by, Alresford Music Festival‘s fifth anniversary should be bigger, better and (hopefully) warmer than ever.

The AMF team have just announced their 23-artist line-up for 2014, and as well as regulars like Rattlewreck and local singer/songwriter and actress Juliet Howland, there are some great new acts including BOMBS, Talk in Code and Echotape. Also returning this year by popular demand is The Hattie Jacques’ Playlist from Southampton and headlining for the second year running will be The Earthlights Boogie Band, a nine piece spectacular featuring exuberant front man Spencer Kennedy and an original exciting mix of disco, funk, Motown, rock and pop classics.

As well as an awesome line-up of artists, there are music workshops from Rock Out!, dance classes for kids by Popdance, the chance to try your circus skills with Markey Jay and the chance to try out Zorbing (or rolling around in a giant human hamster ball!). Add to this an easy going family atmosphere with loads of food, drink and market stalls and you have all the makings of a really great family fun day out for all ages and musical tastes.

Overnight camping, introduced in 2013, is available again at an incredible £5 per person and entrance to the festival itself starts at only £10 for under 18s (under 9s go free!). Check here for details on all advance bookings – and not only save £5 per person on at-the-gate prices on the day, but receive a free pack of Salad Seminars‘ Instant Happiness cards.

New for 2014 will be a shuttle bus service from Winchester railways station to the festival ground – details to be announced shortly.

First Option Software, along with Salad Seminars, are proud to be major sponsors once again and will be active visible throughout the day. We regard this type of community sponsorship as extremely important, especially as the end result of the day is to raise money for good causes. Indeed, in 2013 the money raised was a fantastic £10,000 for two local charities and we take some pride in knowing that we helped to make that possible.

Would you like to help the Alresford Music Festival by sponsoring some aspect of the festival? If so, we would be delighted to see you at our 2014 pre-fest VIP reception here at Signal House at 6pm on Wednesday 21st May. Register here to book your place!
